We’re pleased to be the USA distributor for all JCustom products including the XS-Trem Version #2. This is a high quality drop-in replacement tremolo that fits the body cutout for the “S”-Trems and TransTrems found on most original Steinberger USA-built six-string guitars. Most, if not all of the original GP and GM series guitars were designed to fit the identical “footprints” of the TransTrem and the “S”-trem. Sadly, most of these original “S”-Trems and TransTrems have failed over time and there’s finally a high-quality replacement that really performs well. The engineers at JCustom have released this new and improved version, and we’re happy to be able to carry them here at HeadlessUSA.

These tremolos have the same exact “footprint” as used on the original USA-built Steinbergers with the TransTrem and the “S”-trem. It is NOT an exact drop-in replacement for the R-trem used on the imported Steinberger Spirit/Hohner Headless or on the Steinberger GR model guitars. It certainly can be installed on these other guitars, but will require some body modification to fit.

The XS-trem version #2 is essentially a modern reproduction of Ned Steinberger’s original “S”-tremolo. It incorporates the same type roller-bearings for smooth tremolo action coupled with roller saddles to ensure that your guitar will “return to zero” properly. It also features the master-tune knob to adjust your standard open tuning for different gauge strings. Best of all, it retains the locking lever that converts your tremolo into a fixed bridge to avoid tuning issues when bending strings or if a string breaks. A marvel in engineering. These new XS-trem version #2’s ship complete with vibrato arm and mounting screws plus allen-wrench for adjustments.
