GR-4R N000500 Translucent Red
$2,895.99
Description
A Steinberger GR4R in translucent red, serial number N000500, produced in 2004.
This is a modern-era GR — built after Steinberger production resumed under MusicYo, with the graphite necks supplied by Moses Graphite. Cosmetically and functionally it’s the R-series formula intact, and the translucent finishes were a new option the earlier solid-color instruments never had.
Mahogany body, M/S Blend graphite neck. The neck and fingerboard are a single graphite piece — the stability, fast flat feel, and dead-spot-free response the platform is built on — but this generation adds an adjustable truss rod, so relief is a setup parameter rather than something you live with. Mated to a mahogany body, the voice is warmer and thicker than the maple-bodied earlier Rs.
R-Trem. Ned’s take on the conventional knife-edge tremolo, and a simpler, tougher system than the transposing trems on the graphite models. It locks down solid or floats at the flick of a lever, and it comes back to pitch. Paired with the double-ball string system, tuning stability is a non-issue.
Seymour Duncan pickups. H/S/S
