2024 was a landmark (and turbulent) year for HeadlessUSA. We moved our residence. We moved the business. We sorted, cataloged, tagged, and moved multiple metric tons of inventory.. and we did it in the span of seven months starting in late summer 2024. It was the most grueling time of our lives.

Today, we are happy to announce that HeadlessUSA has transitioned into what we refer to as “phase 2” of our business, which is made official by the launch of our new website.

HeadlessUSA started as Don’s passion project. After his passing, the future of the business was thrown into question. Fortunately, Don passed the torch to people who not only have an enthusiasm for the past, but an eye on the future. We have been working tirelessly to continue his legacy, and transform HeadlessUSA into a one-stop shop for headless parts, restorations, and upgrades–all in service of the Headless community.

Our conviction in the Steinberger guitar, and headless guitars in general, has only become stronger as time goes by. Steinberger Sound’s philosophy is just as relevant now as it was then–to keep what works and replace what doesn’t. We strive for HeadlessUSA to reflect that creative vision, and we believe our re-imagined website (and everything going on behind it) does that vision a bit more justice. Here are some highlights:

  • We re-vamped our restoration and repair business from end-to-end.
  • Our new parts shop is now a fully-fledged e-commerce platform that is fully integrated with our new fulfillment partner–no more service outages and late packages.
  • We are publishing new content including articles, archival information, history, interviews, and more.

And last but not least, our new HeadlessUSA Part Finder tool.

In the past, figuring out what parts belong on your instrument was a painstaking process of scouring forums or asking people in the community for answers, and hoping for the best. Unfortunately, success was not guaranteed; there is a lot of misinformation out there. The new HeadlessUSA Part Finder solves this. By selecting your instrument make and model, you are shown only the parts that are relevant to your guitar or bass, from top to bottom. This tool is a game-changer for all those who are looking to maintain and upgrade their instruments.

For every project that we have mentioned here, there are two more projects in the works that we cannot wait to tell you about.

Stay Headless!
